Settings and preferences
To get to Paltalk settings, click on the settings icon just above your list of pals.
This area contains various switches and controls that allow you to control various aspects of notification options and audio alerts within Paltalk.
Notifications
Use the following switches to display slide up notification panels when your pals do certain things. When a switch is off, it is 'grayed out' and rests on the left.
When a switch is 'on' or enabled, it shows in green and rests on the right.
Comes online
Sends an im
Sends a file
One of my highlighted words is used
Sound
Use the following switches to control various audio alerts. When a switch is off, it is 'grayed out' and rests on the left. When a switch is 'on' or enabled, it shows in green and rests on the right.
Play IM sounds
Play a sound when you receive an IM
Play a sound when a pal comes online
Play a sound when a pal goes offline
Play a sound when one of my highlighted words is used
Stop all sounds when in a chat room
Live notifications
Use the following switches to control alerts about when your pals start their web cam. When a switch is off, it is 'grayed out' and rests on the left. When a switch is 'on' or enabled, it shows in green and rests on the right.
If the 'Notify me when my pals are live' switch is on you will see a notification when any of your pals starts their web cam in a chat room (except A rated or private rooms)
Next you will see a list of everyone on your pal list, and a switch to the right of their nickname. Turn a switch on or off depending on whether you want to see live web cam notifications for this pal.
