Paltalk allows you to easily keep track of which of your buddies are online when you are online. It uses the concept of a buddy list or 'pal list'.

You add people to your 'pal list' once, and from that point on you are automatically notified whenever they come online or go offline.

Adding Paltalk Pals

Step 1
select the 'pals tab' on the main 'pal list window'


Step 2
click on  the 'add' button with your left mouse button


the 'find a pal' window is displayed

Step 3
enter a users nickname or email address into the text entry box

Step 4
press the 'search' button to find the user

Once you have found the user you can block them permanently, or add them to your pal list.

Blocking is done to prevent bothersome users from contacting you or seeing your presence online.

There are other ways to add a pal...

from the 'IM' window toolbar

press the 'add pal' button on the toolbar in the 'IM window' when you are in an 'IM' session with a user


from the 'actions' menu in 'IM' window

select 'add this pal to my pal list' from the 'actions' menu in the 'IM window'


from the 'participant list' in a chat room
'right click' on a name in the chat room participant list

select 'add pal' from the menu that appears


note:  you can add pals from other IM services like AOL, ICQ, MSN, and Yahoo
